OUT OF PRODUCTION

  TRIUMPH
The last Triumph was produced in 1981 and in 1984, the Trademark was bought by BMW who have continued to remain silent (as of 2009) about any possibility of a revival.

  MG
MG was, after many transfers, acquisitions, bankruptcies and takeovers, eventually bought by the Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation of Nanjing, China. While plans to recommence production of a single model MG in 2007 were mooted, there is no evidence of production. If or when it occurs, we will reconsider whether the present structure represents a continuation of the previous company's operations.

  WOLSELEY
Like MG, Wolseley was bought by the Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation from the MG Rover Group in 2005. As the last Wolseley was produced in 1975, there seems little hope of any revival.

  ROVER
In April 2005, the Rover Group became insolvent and no production has occurred since.
In March 2008, the more recent of acquirers, Ford, sold the marque to Tata Motors of India.
The sale also included the Land Rover 4*4 range.
This brand is also considered dormant.

  RILEY
The last Riley was produced in 1969 and the naming rights, like Triumph, are presently owned by BMW.

  JENSEN
Jensen Motors ceased trading in May 1976. Several attempts at revival, as lately as 2001, all failed and the brand name appears to have disappeared.
