Classic Cars of the World
A Selection of the Best Cars
ever produced
This site is
dedicated to all my fellow classic nuts who more often, spend more money on their
"second wife" than on the real thing.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this beholder makes no apologies for the selection.
Despite that, your opinions are welcome and just MAY alter my
rankings and inclusions.

The world's largest consumer of cars imported from every other producing country.
Better known for their "gas guzzlers", their own range of classics is
huge.

Maybe better known for their dominance in the transport industry, several of
their vehicles are genuine classics.
However, only Volvo meets the requirements as a genuine classic.
SAAB was a late entry into the car manufacturing industry and any car that could be so ranked,
has not yet been on the market long enough to be considered a "classic".

Not to ignore the iconic French car.

The criteria for selection is that the vehicle must -
1. Have been locally designed and manufactured;
2. Have begun production before 1980;
(note *1)
3. Be sought after by collectors and capable of showcasing at concours d'elegance
events;
4. Belong to a company still in production.
(note *2)
(note *1)
1980 is not an officially recognised cut off date for a "classic".
(note *2)
Maybe one day, I will create
my list of those classics where the manufacturer is no longer in production.
There are hundreds of them.
